ONP examines the production and use of green H2 for Gräper’s sand-lime brick plants

Hamburg/Ahlhorn. ONP Management has conducted a feasibility study on the "Generation and Use of Hydrogen in Sand-Lime Brick Plants" for Beton- und Energietechnik Heinrich Gräper GmbH & Co. KG. The study focused on the technical feasibility and economic viability of various concepts related to green hydrogen.

By evaluating different generation and consumption scenarios, ONP was able to define possible measures to reduce the CO2 emissions related to the production of sand-lime bricks. One possible scenario was the use of green hydrogen instead of natural gas in the combustion process of the steam generator. Another promising approach is the use of green hydrogen as a storage to provide the Electricity Balancing Market with control energy.
