GSRJ – Ship repair yard
ONP proudly supported GSRJ in the establishment of a state-of-the-art ship repair yard in Kingston, Jamaica.
Two of our Senior Project Managers led the project, overseeing design management and coordinating with consultants and contractors from Jamaica, Germany, and around the globe throughout the planning and execution phases of this exciting venture.
The key task of the project and the most important asset of the shipyard was the transport and installation of the Panamax-size floating dock “JAM-DOCK 1”, which allows vessels of > 200m in length and weighing up to 20,000t to be lifted out of the water for repair works. ONP’s scope of work

Our experts arranged and supervised the 3-month-long preparation of the Dock for transit in Bremerhaven and subsequently supported throughout the 45day-journey across the Atlantic Ocean.

Having already coordinated the maritime construction works (dredging and anchor-block placement) on site in Jamaica, the ONP-team was crucial in anchoring and securing the Dock for future operations.

After two years of providing services to GSRJ, we finished our first assignment in July 2024. The Dock had just survived its first hurricane, Berryl, without taking any major damage.
The next development stages of the shipyard will include further infrastructure works onshore and the installation of a second Dock to increase the yard’s capacity. We are very happy and take it as a testimonial of appreciation of our work that ONP Management has already been asked by GSRJ to support during this future development.
