Site Management OWF Thor (DK)
On behalf of the Buss Group, ONP provided site management in the marshalling port of Thyborøn for load-in, storage and load-out of secondary steel components for RWE's 1.1 GW Thor offshore wind farm. Once fully operational in 2027, Thor will be the largest offshore wind farm in Denmark.
- Set-up of Offshore Construction Base
Inventory of port infrastructure and site preparation for base port activities incl. a.o. establishment of site offices, warehouses, shelter areas, walkways, storage areas and traffic management in line with Danish regulations and QHSE-requirements. - Port Logistics
Management of day-to-day operations and port logistics for offshore construction incl. load-in, handling, transport, storage and pre-installation of offshore wind components for load-out. Component handling included Elevated Working Platforms (EWP), Internal Cassettes (IC), Boatlandings (BL), MP Covers, EWP Covers, EWP Storage Towers and IC + BL Storage Towers. Load-in and on-site heavy transport of components was performed by Mammoet. - Site Management
Our team of up to four site managers (working in rotation) has been the first point of contact on site for the customer and its sub-contractors as well as other service providers. In close collaboration with Buss Offshore Solutions in Hamburg and the local client representatives we a.o.- planned and scheduled upcoming activities, including multiple and concurrent load-ins and load-outs within allowable weather windows,
- led daily operation meetings and enforced strict adherence to lifting plans, method statements, and permit-to-work procedures
- ensured safe operations on-site,
- established a network of local suppliers for ad-hoc services and deliveries,
- ensured compliance to HSE regulations and QA/QC requirements, and
- collaborated closely with the Port of Thyborøn.
Ensuring site operations 24/7 included supervision of all planned and executed operations on-site incl. documentation and reporting on daily site activities and project performance.
